Ice-Ocean Interaction & Fjords

The meltwater runoff from the Greenland Ice Sheet has doubled over the last two decades, strongly impacting the fjords and coastal shelves around Greenland. Through multidisciplinary research, we aim to understand how ocean-glacier interaction drives the melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet along with the impact of melting glaciers on the physical oceanography and ecosystems. The program involves seasonal fieldwork in SW Greenland and research cruises in Greenlandic fjords during the summer months.
